Sorry to hear that! That really sucks. I guess it would be a good idea not to futz with the cpu while it's running. I know on mine it wouldnt be as big of a deal. The PIII's dont get any where near as hot. I've had my peltier not fire up before and got into windows. But the highest I have ever seen it get was 69c. then I was able to shut it off.
