I got my replacement WD1200JB back on Friday and I finished Win2K thru SP2 intall.
Sandra file system bench is only 19Meg/Sec
Atto is showing the following attached image
Changed to Black and White so the server will take it.

atto.jpg

does this seem low?
I would guess that DMA is enabled from the atto scores but the sandra scores are really bad. my 120 gxp would get 25 meg/sec

any input would be appreciated. I just want to make sure that the RMA drives they send out are the same quality as what was reviewed by everyone.

thanks

Reading over this thread got me curious about my numbers..

I have a 120gb wdse which is on the primary slave, to my 60gb maxtor 7200 drive. I ran the test on each, and here are my numbers

I'm thinking pretty soon I'll be pulling the 60gb maxtor out and just having everything on a single partition on the 120gb, as it wasn't until I replaced an old 10gb 5400rpm fujitsu in this comp with the new WD that I realized just how loud this blasted maxtor is! Then I may just get another 120wdse once the prices go back down.
