Hi guys

just recently purchased a saphire radeon 5770 1gb to replace my diamond 3870hd 512mb. I put the 3870 in another system that I built that is using mostly inferior parts. However, the windows experience index for graphics is higher on the 3870 than on the 5770...what gives? My main system is getting 6.6 in both aero and gaming, while the secondary gets 7.1...I really don't get it.
I know the 5770 is performing better then the 3870 because I'm making about 800-1000 PPD more when I fold on it, I'm jsut confused as to why the index isn't reflecting this.
Oh, the main rig is on Windows 7 RC, and the Secondary has the regular release, could this be causing a discrepancy?

System specs:

Main rig:
e8400 @ 3.6
p5k-e wifi ap motherboard
4 gigs ddr2 800
5770hd
WD 1tb Black

Second system:
e2180 @ 2.66
evga 680i sli motherboard
2 gigs ddr2 800
3870hd
WD 1tb Green

Thanks for the input guys

Nick

WEI is a bit wonky for me too. It's just a number, so long as the system runs within spec, who cares?

Yeah I know, I'm just kind curious to know how the WEI calculates the scores. I'd also be curious to know what everybody else was getting with their 5770s

WEI is utterly useless b/c of its seemingly frequent inconsistencies in its scoring. Its the same across the board it seems. Dont worry about it. Non issue. You will find most will score the same, but there may be someone out there with a different graphics score.

If you were folding, you should have gotten the GTX260 216. Same performance as 5770 in gaming, but WAY more PPD for F@H. ;)

except its like 50 bucks more before taxes and shipping, and it probably uses tons more power. But thanks for the input anyways.

Great googly moogly. They were similarly priced last I checked!!! Haha!

they might have been at one point, I just searched quickly on the site I bought my 5770 from (ncix.com)
