Hi all ,

I wanted to compare MB MONITOR 5 with Hardware
Doctor and when setting the parameter for heat control (winbond) i put windbond 1 for first gauge and got 33°c for system , but then i put by mistake winbond 2 for second gauge it scared me to death with a cpu temp gauge that jumped in full red reading 94°C and IN HARDWARD DOCTOR ALSO ,with the fire truck alarm ringing ! So I RUSHED TO CUT POWER OFF
,really afraid that this **** program had stopped the cpu fan and had burned the cpu !
Happily it was still working after restarting as P4 are no Athlon , but when i got back in W2K and before desinstalling MB5 i tried to open MB5 again just to know what happen exactly but with case open and power off activated in bios if cpu fan fail and it did
it all again but the fan didn't stopped before the bios turned power off ! So i guess it was a false alarm as i dont see why mb5 would stop cpu fan BUT I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY HDr was fooled also ? If somebody has an explanation ,it will be welcome !

MBM and Hardware doctor interfere with each other, only install one of them and you won't get ridiculous readings in MBM

The correct sensor to use for the CPU is Winbond 2 P2 diode. this will give you the correct result.

I got the same problem when I first tried it, worst part was I let it run for a while with the siren going and then started to smell burning before I shut it down........turned out the burning smell was my wife cooking:D .
Anyway dont give up on the MBM5 it is way better than Hardware doctor once you get it set up.
Read the help section thoroughly before you start, all the answers are in there (surprisingly enough;) )
