ok, i have both of the wires in my socket for the L12 mod, but it only comes up as a 166 default... i have the d10 bios. on an nf7 2.0

is it possible that the wires for the 200 fsb l12 mod are not long enough? is there a certain length needed? i think it is a little short, but i thought that it just needs to connect the pins.. does it matter where? thanks guys.

which cpu are you using? barton desktop or mobile.... the L12 mods are not the same for both I believe.

The NF7 I think see's the 166 and 200 as the same. When I did the L12 200fsb mod for my unlucked barton 2500 it would boot up with 166 after choosing optimal settings. Then you had to select 200FSB in bios or use the setting for 200 barton, 166 barton or manual setting with the 200 barton setting listed as the first choice. With my Mobile 2200 it boots at 166 fsb also after choosing optimal settings. I have to manually change it to 200.

My NF7-S and K7N2-Delta both act the same way with the L12 mod. I havn't tried it yet with my pally 1600 yet.

I must of done it wrong because I seen someone else who did get 200 as default after doing the L12. Requires 2 wires. I must of had bad contact with one wire. Got to try it again.

yeah looking at that link makes a HUGE difference, because i put it in the wrong pins then.... even tho i got it from a respectable link....

the link i got it from had 2 pins start in the same hole, but they went in different directions... weird?!

perhaps it was for a tbred

I have it just as the link above. I get 166 by default. I'll try the two wire method again and see what happens.

They are the same I believe.. the one that has the two wires going into the same hole then spliting to two others is just using the same ground .. They will both do the same for you..

Ive done BOTH of those and my CPU showed up as a 166fsb cpu both times..
This is normal..
