I know, very smooth of her and it is now rendered useless. If cingular doesnt replace it under the extended warranty plan we took out i will probablly buy an unlocked one off of ebay or something. Does anybody know anything about the motorola slvr, or any phones similar to the sliver (slvr) and razor?

I tried that but there is something in the battery compartment that turns red when it gets wet. I blamed it on my kids. and then asked if they had any used phones. which they did for 50bucks, the same I would pay to replace it under my Insurance(a wise investment @ $4 a month). Then I cx the ins when I can purchase another phone. IF it gets wet I just buy a new phone, then start ins with the new phone.

Phone insurance doesn't usually cover getting it wet.
I'd try the used phone thing mentioned above (factory usually checks it out first too) and then eBay second.

And don't blame Mom because you can't clean out your pockets. Think maybe she trusted that you were old enough to be responsible with that expensive phone?

Must be different for ya'll, because if we even sneeze on one here, they say it's too bad.
I've never toasted a phone myself, but my wife has. I just get the bill for the new one.

To me that is the reason for buying ins. to cover my mistakes. You can only have two claims per year but they replace the phone no matter what. Once I had an antenna that kept breaking and they filed that on motorola warranty. but otherwise $50 and a phone call then a new phone.

I have the SLVR, and it is IMO far better than the RAZR because I dislike flip phones and the iTunes is awesome to have. So mostly personal preference there I suppose.

I only use my phone for actual talking and iTunes though, so I know nothing about the media center or web browser.

Diggrr, im not blaming my mom for anything. I had left a pair of shorts on the ground in my room intending to wear them agian, but she came through picked them up and put them in the laundry which she probablly shouldnt have done, but i probablly shouldnt have left them laying around on the floor etc etc. Alas, a series of unfortunate events. Anyway, im waiting to take the phone to the store and see what they can do under the extended warranty, which hopefully will be to replace it free of charge, but if not then ill start scowering ebay.

hah, well, at least your mom does your laundry.

Do you really want another razr? I hate mine, i'm getting a 8525 when the price is right, and ditching that pos.

ahahahaha yes phonocide would be the word. I really dont want another razor but if they offer to replace it for free ill take it. If not, im looking for other options in the small/sleek unlocked cameraphone area.

What did you dislike about your RAZR that you don't want another one (just curious here)? I have a RAZR V3i Unlocked that I love. I don't know how I lived on a phone other than a RAZR. To each his own I suppose ;).

It ultimately comes down to personal preference. So find something that works for you and go with it :).

I absolutely love the RAZR. It's got everything I need in a phone in a nice small sleek package. I wish I had the one with the memory stick though.

theres just some stuff like how when i flip mine open, the screen lags a little bit before it displays the wallpaper and such. I like its size and weight but there are some things like what i just talked about.

RAZR is garbage. keys are all flat so it is difficult to dial without looking and it is difficult to hold between shoulder and ear. kool looking but not functional.

To each his own on the opinion of it, I am sorry to hear about your RAZR though. I am exceptionally happy with mine as it is probably the most functional phone I have ever had.

I dropped and lost my phone in a flooded channel for about 5 hours. I found it in the mud later that day. I took it totally apart with the help of some dude who sold accessories at a local mall. I let it dry for a week; the only thing that fried was the batt
