ok, my ram is "micro T" supposed to be 7.7ns 256mb[ iset it @Cas2]and tried it @ cas3,im using an asus p3v4x m/b with p3 733 ,have golden orb heat sink, heat sink on clock generator and i cant overclock more than {fsb} 146mhz @803. it wont boot up more than that and my cpu temp is only @37C /voltage @1.75v so im thinking my ram possibly or this board isnt good 4 overclocking..any ideas?

What was your core voltage at stock speeds? Raising your CV will get stability but before I would do that I would get rid of the Orb as your cpu temps could be cooler [even at the CV your running now] Burning in also helps for stabilty if you can get it to boot into windows, I do not know about your MB or Cas 2 or 3. I'm running 1gp3@1248 166fsb disabling sideband in your registry will get a little more sability for gamimg I was able to raise my FSB from 160 to 166 after the registry change. At idle i'm running 15C but my house is cool and I have done quite a few cooling mods most of them free or very litte money, what kind of case fans do you have? if you cannot afford a new HSF have you lapped the orb? applying a good HScompound such as arctic silver will also help if not avalible and if your dont want to wait get Radioshack HS compound. There is a software cooler called Rain that will keep your temps down at idle but only helps a little if at all under full loads. If i ran my PC at 37C it would cut my stability way down and I would have to turn my FSB down to play games ext ext You might check out the CPU database and see what the other guys are running with your chip. good luck

oh so my temps are too high at this rate? and the orbs are no good, wel ill try to get something decent and see what temp i can get, thanks for the input ,much appreciated

As far as temps go you can get by where your at but it would be nice to get it cooler to leave some room for higher ambient temps [say it gets a little hotter in your house then it is now] for a amd your temps would be fine but i think you can do better with temps when it comes to intel

good luck

If you could borrow a stick of memory from somebody that has gone to 150fsb or so, it might help in narrowing down your bottleneck.
sometimes reducing your agp arpeture to below 8meg seems to help some people...I can't do it on my boards so I don't know how effective it would be, but you never know...what works for one might not work for others and vise versa.
you could also reduce the amount of cards to the absolute min, like just a vid card, and maybe your hdd controller if needed...this will also help eliminate possible causes.
But the number one thing you can do to improve your chances, is to get a better cooler. Gorbs are kinda like the little dog you can get for the back of your car with the bouncing head.....they're cute, but they don't do much
