I blew up the old celeron 633 somehow, and i am looking into what mobo to get for a Duron system.
It needs to be great for overclocking, perfomance and cost.
I was looking at the A7V133 or the MSI K7T Turbo-R.
What are your experiences with these boards?
one more queury, will the 1x 128 (133mhz) stick and the 2x(100mhz) stick of ram i have will work fine with a Duron and mobo and not inflict any disadvantages when overclocking?

I haven't had any experience with AMD cpu's or mobos so excuse the newbienesss =)

cheers,
Carn

well, i suggest reading through the posts to find which board is preferred and would suit your needs. there's MANY threads of this nature in this topic.
and i would suggest selling the old PC100 RAM and getting just one stick of 256mb PC133 CAS2 RAM from either Crucial or Mushkin for the best overclocking results, and most stability.
anything over 256mb is said to be overkill in Windows, and bring negative returns. true or not? i dunno.. but i've read it lots. 256 works great for me, had more, made no difference. so, sell that old RAM and get some good stuff!

In order to reccomend a mobo with cost considerations it would be usefull if you informed us as to how much cash you wish to spend.
---------------------------------------------
Duron 800 @ 1050 with Global Win FOP-32 (140 x 7.5)
Abit KT7A-Raid Mobo
512 mb (Crucial Stuff CAS 2)
Hard Drive Cooler
Elsa Eraser X2 Gforce with Blue Orb (modified to display as a Quadro and overclocked http://www.tweakhardware.com/guide/quadro/ )
Sound Blaster Live Value
Full Tower with 5 (120 mm) case fans with seperate PSU

That should be fine but the 133 will only go as high as the pc100 will go-so if the pc100 will only go to 115 then the pc133 will be at 115 also-i think that is correct
