Not really, I dont know myself, are you refering to the hole stick, or the chips used on them?

Sometimes people like Compaque will be a pain in the A** and make there own sticks of ram, and sometimes, they also decide to make a them selves a new standard so you can't go out a buy you own mamory to upgrade.

But trust me, it will be the cheapest ram on earth.

Yes, compaq makes its own parts. Dell, however, assembles pcs from other compainies. I just wanted to know because the company chosen for memory will probably "get rich quick". And if you know either chip or stick, it would be helpful. Anyway, i know that its gonna use cheap RAM... of course Dell and others are not going to use expensive RAM. I wasnt doubting anyone there. Hehe.

Actually, yeah... In my school at investment club, the guy said just pick a stock and follow it throughout the year. I just thought that whatever DDR RAM is going to be with intels is gonna "get rich quick." Heh.

A little correction. Compaq does not make it's own parts. They do however contract out Intel to manufacture propritary motherboards for them. Memory, harddrives, modems, etc are bought where ever they can get it cheapest.

asdf. You sure? I guess it stopped... Im positive Compaq used to manufacture most/some of its parts - including the motherboard.
