So... now I've bought my Tbird at last, but I don't dare to risk it all. So, I do now want to have a little feed-back from you guyz who has these components... Where do the limits go with an air-cooled system?

I dont know what cpu you have speed wise, But my 850 (fab30 dresden) tbird topped out at 997 (105 x 9.5 x 1.775/1.80v ) on the A7V . hope that helps

1100-1150 is probably your limit with aircooling - though with a nice chip you could get 1200+. Just make sure your temps hover around 40-45C, and you should do just fine out of that chip :)

Well... I managed 2 do what I did 2 my P3... I fried it well, served with fried potatoes... I won't drive my new 1Ghz past 1100Mhz, not without H2O-cooling!

Sorry to hear that Golab - how did it happen?

I got a 950 and am at 1180, after that I run into temp probs, am working on a water cooled sytem though.

Good Luck!

Have had my A7V133A with Win98SE up & running for two weeks now. It has been very stable so I changed the system to 7.5 x 133 to see if my pencil trick worked. It booted perfect. Ordered tracer tape for the bridges from Plycon.com. I am using Kingmax PC-150 memory. Now I have to read about the voltage changes then I will bump it up more. My Alpha PEP 66 with a pair of YS 26cfm fans keep it cooled from 42*C to 44*C based on room temp.

When I finally get that new Swiftech 462, I should be able to really crank it up!

Need for Speed !
