Flip phones...I group those together with Nextel (that two-way beep...will never forget it) from early 2k.

Pixel 6 Pro and Pixel 6 came earlier this week. The Pro is very fine, everything is a tad better than my P 5. The size tho...If I had to do it again I would have just kept my P 5. It fit in my pocket perfectly. This P6, the Nexus 6 and Pixel 2 XL were always too big for my pocket. When you have it in your hand it excels, the screen, and speed , cameras are so good. I will have to be careful while golfing and riding my tractor. I may have to start using my watch again to track fitness.

Pretty sure my daughter isn't going to like the Pixel 6 size either...just about as big. My love affair with big phones is gone. Offered my daughter the Flip z as an alternative, if Google comes out with a folder I think I'll be in.

I went from a Pixel 3XL to the Z Flip 3, almost the same amount of screen real estate, the Z Flip screen looks better to my eyes, it's plenty fast and has a 120 Hz refresh screen. Oh and it folds... no more sitting down too abruptly and getting a 6" phone right in the ********.

So I got tired of waiting for graphics cards to come back down in price and be in stock. EVGA wait line is still closed. I've already read in hardware news that nVidia has no plans in ramping up production (even rumors of reducing production to keep prices high), as well as further cutting down supply by eliminating production altogether as they work on the next GPU silicon. And although AMD is trying to put as much as they can out in the market, the prices of thier GPUs has been steadily rising and shows no sign of coming back down.

So I decided to head on down to Microcenter and see if they have anything in stock.

This will pair nicely with the 5950x I picked up a couple of months ago.

And for those with a keen eye, the current price tag was placed atop a previous price tag. If you're curious like me, this is what it was previously priced at.

Nice MPegger.

Now I'm curious about the other two stickers under the $1799.99.

Wow, I am blind. I didn't even notice those others even after viewing the photo.

Well, ask and you shall receive, but it wasn't just 2 more price labes, its was 3!

That last one went from ludicrous, to plaid.

I wonder why it has all those price stickers though. Any time I went to Microcenter during the past 12 months, there weren't any graphics cards other then the super budget, barely better then intergrated graphics, available. Any stock they got in would sell out within the hour of opening. I doubt this has been on the shelf long enough to even get repriced once, much less 5 total times, unless somehow that all happened in the span of 40 minutes from opening.

Got a very rare non-clone MCA sound card in today, the Sound Piper 16.

Gonna be playing SimCity 2000 on OS/2 3.0 all night =P

Well, not today, it came in a week ago. Still figuring out if I'll actually use it or not. Great for mini ITX, but not building one anytime soon.

I would love to pick up a 3060Ti like that for casual use. Too bad EVGA booted every 30xx purchaser to the bottom of the list after picking one up, no matter the model.

Well, less "What did I get today" and more "What did I get last week".

Managed to break my "beater" ANC cans ~2 weeks back - a set of MP BT500-ANCs. Figured I'd get a new good set and downgrade my Sennheiser PXC 550s to beater status. Found the Momentum 3s on sale and jumped on them.

Fished the 550s out of the closet, realized the battery was shot. Took 5+ hours to hit 50% charge, then dead within minutes of power-on. Saw MP's higher end ANC headphones were on sale for only $10 more than the BT500s, grabbed a set of those.

Quick review - The M3s? Decent sound quality, ANC isn't much better than the 550s, but that may be due to the 550s having a more compressed fit - still trying to "dial in" the M3s.

The BT500s? Par for the course with MP, you get exactly what the MSRP gets you, so wait for a sale. Sound quality is average, ANC would've been considered great maybe 10-15 years ago, but good battery life. Touch controls are a plus, one thing I liked about the PXC 550s.

I had a set of the Sennheiser PC350Se that would not seal to my head very well and always lacked bass. I could put a bit of pressure on them towards my ears and they sounded quite nice.

Sennheisers seem to be kind of hit or miss with the seal. Had a set of HD555s back in the day that were perfect - tight but not uncomfortable. Of course they were open back so a lot of good it did. And obviously found the PXC 550s pretty good.

The Momentum 3s, I dunno. Might have to see if any friends have a decent clamp and toss 'em in there overnight, lol.
