It will be done! Probably over the weekend. What sucks is I'm starting my on call this Friday 😭
Gah, that sucks. Do you have anyone to step in if needed, or is there some automation to that?

And tell us how bad it stinks up the place, if it does. In an apartment and don't even have access to a proper grill. If it doesn't smell like I've been chainsmoking in the kitchen I may have a passing interest.

Sadly no luck with trying to get someone to cover. I work as a maintenance tech for a cable co, and when it gets super cold, we usually spend the whole night out working. I spent Thanksgiving night and the next morning working.

My main concern is what you pointed out. Read reviews and some people reported smelling but not seeing smoke. If it turns out my place will smell like smoke I will be returning it.

I understand, I work along one of the toll highways coming out of DC, specifically on the electronics. On call for us is similar, a call-in can be anything from power cycling a camera to pulling and splicing fiber. Just this past week we had to re-pull some 1/0 power cable after mice got into a pull box. (speaking of grilling...)

And gotcha. Well, keep us in the loop

IMO if it smells like burning wood, that's a problem. But if it smells like BBQ cooking, that's a good thing. :)

I think there's pink thermal paste somewhere around here. Supposed to smell like cookies or cotton candy when burning in

*Update*

Netgear Nighthawk CM1200 : Ebay Used $50
Spectrum Internet Service is doing upgrades the next couple years increasing
download and upload rates. Decided to again try a 3rd party cable modem.
This device supports Link Aggregation we'll be looking to see latency decrease
from the network edge to the transparent firewall bridge.
Nice. Let me know how it works. I'm also on Spectrum.

Service is Solid.

Upload speeds are a pita capped at 35 Mbps
Business Level Service does not offer higher uploads. Possibly talking hybrid coax fiber with the sales department might offer more upload.
Fiber costs are way outta my spending capability here.

Rumor has it Spectrum is phasing in 1 Gig uploads to standard business class packages in the next 18 months?

Compared to 56k dial-up Napster days , the service is incredibly usable today.

I was on Spectrum until fidium came to the area about 6 months ago. I was paying $85 per month for 200 Mbps down and 10 Mbps up, now I'm paying $55 for 1Gbps down and 1Gbps up. Fidium does vary a little but it is usually over 850 Gbps, we get very occasional drops but they usually last a lot less than a second and we wouldn't notice them but for me playing online at the time, streaming services seem to have a sufficient buffer for it not to be noticeable at all while watching TV.

My wife and I both needed new tires, so I picked up a new set of treads for each of us. Geez Louise are tires expensive these days.

Wife's - 2020 F150 XLT 4x4 Crew Cab - Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac RT Stock size (265/65R18 iirc). I've alway run the original Duratrac on my F150 and I've loved them. The newer RTs are even better from what I can tell. Much better in wet road conditions than the original which was my only real complaint.

Mine - 2016 F150 XLT 4x4 Super Cab - Falken Wildpeak AT4W 295/75R18 (essentially 35x11.5). I went with these for two reasons. I wanted a tire that was better in wet weather than the original Duratracs. I hadn't tried the newer RTs yet, so I wasn't sure about them. Also, for my size, the Duratrac RTs were about $400 more for the set. As for the AT4W, they are excellent in light snow and decent in wet roads. Much louder and heavier (MPG loss) than the Duratrac and Duratrac RT. I don't mind the road noise as much as my wife so no biggie there. My radio is basically always on. I'll try to remember to post up some pics. Later this week/weekend.
