No Photos , yet can attest to USB 3.0 Active Extension Cable 50' does work. Recently picked up from Newegg.com
Cable included 2 power adapters that can provide extra power.

The cable is positioned between 2 USB 3.0 Switches and a 3D printer connected at the far end receives files and commands !!!
Neither location, for the extra power adapter is not providing power

Theres also some pricey fancy usb active cables floating around that are fiber optic , yet to try ....

Been a while but some year end pick ups

Tennessee Legend Coffee Whiskey (60 proof) picked up the peanut butter cup one a while back and was pretty good so going to try this one

Agavales Blood Orange Tequila (70 proof) didnt have any tequila, only had 1800 before, went with this one on owner recomdation

Buchanans Pineapple Scotch Whisky (70 proof) not really much of a scotch fan but will try this flavored one

Suntory Toki Whisky (86 proof) my first japanese whisky, the hibiki is way too over priced here at $150, so went with toki at $35

Disaronno Amaretto (56 proof) the big boy 1.75L bottle, 50ml for comparison

Jack Daniels Winter Jack Spiced Apple Cider (30 proof) was missing this from my shelf and since its a seasonal release picked it up

Josh Cabernet Sauvignon Bourbon Barrel Aged (29 proof) to give as a gift

My grandson had been griping that his internet connection in his room was appalling, 35 Mbps on a 1gig connection. His Dad had got a new fiber connection installed about 6 months ago, it dawned on me that he was still probably using cat4 cable on his network. A new 50 ft length of flat cat 6, which claims to support cat 7 and 8 arrived today. Hooked it up and bang, it's a Christmas miracle

He is now very happy, his father is awaiting a new set of cables for the rest of the network.
yea the longer the runs the higher the rated cables you want. Glad he is upgrading the rest of the cables!

Christmas loot. R34 Fast and Furious Lego car, the Kyosho Optima Mid 60th, and the Outlaw RR2160 MkII receiver I bought for Black Friday to replace my RR2150 I've had for a long time.

Forgot to post this regarding my indoor GE smoker. Overall, I'm satisfied with the smoker. It can't compete with an outoor smoker when it comes to the amount of smoke flavor, but the meat is incredibly juicy and tender. There is no smoke smell inside the house as long as you hit clear smoke before opening it and waiting 9 minutes. The only "side effect" is it considerably heats up the room, which I don't mind considering the cold weather outside.

For Xmas, some new shirts and a football to play catch with the kids.

But also a cold from my youngest :poop:

Yeeeaaahhh... Went out Christmas Eve with the parents and a bit of the extended fam. My mom's cousin shows up with "just a minor cold, it's fine if we don't shake hands". My grandmother and both parents then tested positive for Covid a few days later...

Took two at-home tests myself and somehow managed to avoid it, so I'm counting that as my big gift this year.

Got an external Verbatim 43888 Blu-Ray drive from Amazon UK as it's known to work with MakeMKV and certain firmware to be able to not only playback UHD 4K discs, but also able to be made region-free.

I have a massive physical media collection and recently upgraded my NAS space to be able to back everything up to it for easier network streaming via Plex at higher quality than 1080p locally. It was kinda pricy for what's basically a laptop drive in a slimline metal enclosure, but everything I've found is saying that internal drives over the past few years has seen a rapid decline in quality and longevity unless you shell out for the high-end Pioneer drives, and even then it's not a guarantee it's going to last...

Also got some Noctua NF-p14s fans to replace the cr@ptastic EK Vardar bs that's been in my main rig for WAY not long enough for how expensive they were, and they all are pretty much dead with garbage bearings that have failed in the same fashion. They don't even have 100 hours on them I think. Garbage, just like the company and the owner. Screw you Eddie.

Oh and this lil guy. It's the chicken from Moana, and it's one of those rubber screaming chickens. He stands on a shelf rather well too. I got one for someone as an XMAS gift, and couldn't resist having one myself. XD

Just a little refurbished Phillips TV and OTA antenna.

2025-01-02 12.44.13.jpg

One of my New Year's resolutions is to cook more at home again. Saw this at MC for $90 and figured it'd be an OK kitchen TV. It's *just* short enough to fit on the kitchen counter under the cabinets and has Roku built in.

Was actually considering grabbing a half decent 24" monitor w/ onboard speakers and a fire stick but after some browsing probably would have been 2x as much and doesn't have the built in antenna tuner.

Yeah you get those tiny TVs for practically nothing these days.

I've got TVs casually laying around the globe. Don't really care about them. But I need to go get my trusty old Acer monitor at some point...

Panasonic TZ90. Been after something small with big zoom and 4k30 video support for ages. They don't really exist any more so this is a used one. Released 2017 so quite old. 5 year store warranty could come in handy. 30 day refund, remainder repair/replacement. Charging it over lunch first, then clean and try it out later.
