Finally got around to setting up my T-mobile router.

Not awesome, but actually a bit faster than my "gigabit" connection through Cox. (Downside of apartment living - they likely have everyone squeezing through 1-2 connection points...somewhere.)

Screw T-Mobile! They kept my SS# and personal info for over 10 years after I dumped their service. They got hacked and all the info is now public. I believe I was offered $25 which I refused. My credit is locked so I can admire my 850 score and do absolutely nothing with it.

PS I have 1 Gbit service with Mediacom and get consistent speeds (950 Mbit down wired due to limitations of my router). I wonder what your utilization is? Does it slow down in the evenings only or is it slow all the time?

Sorry about your trouble with T-mobile.

With Cox, I was paying for 1GB down, but getting maybe 250-300mbps down in the morning, and it'd drop to half that in the evening. My heaviest load is maybe having two Twitch streams going at once, so I can't really tell the difference between 200, 300, and 350mbps. But once it drops down around 150, page load times get noticeable, the streams start dropping to lower resolutions, and when Steam decides to update something everything else just...stopped.

Sounds like very high utilization.

Well, like I said - apartment complex.

So far the only problem I've had with the T-mobile connection is with the modem's power adapter. Ran a few errands, came back to the modem off. Replugged it a few times, no dice. Went digging for their support line when I got the idea to swap the adapter, luckily the modem just has USB-C instead of some barrel connector. Switched it to my MSI OEM adapter and it powered up fine.

Looking up new modems now - the fact that the stock wall wort didn't last a full 30 hours makes me wonder how much they cheaped out on the modem itself.

I almost got a guitar that was that color... Fender calls it "Lake Placid Blue."

I'd probably have it today except that the strings were really dirty and the guitar was a piece of junk. Wouldn't stay in tune and was just, generally, not impressive. (Was also like 300 bucks more expensive than the guitar that I eventually wound up getting.)

Still LOVED the color though... and I intend to get a better Stratocaster in that color somewhere down the line.

As for today... I've got this coming:

The DJI Mic Mini (1TX and 1RX combo).

This is gonna solve a LOT of problems for me... and is about half the price of the full $170 combo which would've come with two transmitters and some kinda charging box. (All this you can just get separately.)

It's a lavaliere mic... and although I'm pretty happy with my Diety V-Lav+... no wires will mean NO WIRES.

Plus it has some pretty advanced noise canceling and is much smaller than the original DJI Mic. (The damned thing's not SUPPOSED to be an advertisement for DJI... and I'll probably tape-over the letters even on this smaller version. Their older mics look like you're wearing a DJI billboard.)

Been trying to ease up on all the buying... but there have been SO MANY offers that I simply could not refuse.

(Did Earthdog really say "gosh darn gummit"???! Are we really just going to scroll right past that? )
