Ive just checked out the CPU-Z program and it says my Memory is in Single channel.

I thought you were supposed to put the sticks in 1 & 3 to take advantage of the dual channel?

it generic 2100 @ DDR333 3-2-2-cl 2.5. so do they go in 1 + 2 or what? the manual wasnt very clear on where to insert the RAM to use dual channel....or maybe this cpu-z program isnt reporting it right....

if you looks in your user manual, Abit recommand to use slot 3 to 1 (in that order), so if you want to use dual, you have to put them in dimm 3 and 2, I also think I have read you need to turn an option "on" in the bios too.

i dont think there is (mainly because i cant see getting any higher then 3500 in sisoft

its supposed to be automaticaly enabled whenever you put the dimms into the correct slots.

in cpu-z it still says its single channel ram no matter what slots i have the ram in. and is there a benchmark that will show the difference between not having dual channel on/single channel on these nforce2 boards. ive sued pcmark/sandra memory benches but it stays about the same.

I never seen that in my bios for my abit nf7-2 v1.2 either. And I know it's in dual with slots 2 & 3. Seems automatic, when put in slots 1 & 2, i get single channel and a higher fsb, so pretty sure it's auto on these.

Guys on an AMD rig your never going to see a huge gain...it's just not how it works

Sure the ram CAN take more, but it's only going to show you as much as the CPU is giving it

1 and 3.. yes.. Mine says "dual channel enabled " in bios..
What bios version is that in? AFAIK that is something that is coming out in the next bios release. Up til that we've had to assume it was in dual channel as long as the memory was in slots 3&2, or 3&1.
