It also has a 4 channel Sata Raid for 0/1 where as the IC7 only can run 0 with its 2 channel.

tread70: that is true, but I bet the vast majority of people who buy that board don't even use SATA, and I bet the majority of them don't use the SATA RAID, and I bet the majority of them use just a two disk RAID0 array.

so for the vast majority, that feature isn't critical......

but, there are other features, but are they worth the $60, thats for the people who buy the boards to determine, if you got it spend it :)

True but even on a Raid0 I use both of my controller setting both Hdds as master. The IC7 doesnt have the on board nic installed so it is no use. but it depends on what each person wants in a mobo, I personally would get the G model just for the extra 2 raid channels and the onboard lan.

That's not completely true. If one goes you lose all the data on both drives. It doesn't render them both useless, though. The drive that is still mechanically sound will be able to be reclaimed.

I buy it because I have 7 IDE devices. 4 go on the 2 IDE channels. The other three will take up 4 of the 4 SATA channels with serillel adapters.
The IC& will only take 6 devices (4 IDE plus 2 SATA)

The other major feature of the IC7-G is the Gigabit LAN. Some people want all the bells and whistles. Personally, I went with the IC7 because it had everything I needed.

Probably for the same reason people buy 3GHz cpu's. Some people want to have the best regardless of the cost.

I totally agree baraka. When I bought my BE7-Raid it was for 2 reasons Name and the best board out at the time( in my opinion anyways).
