i just upgraded from an Enermax 300W to a 431W enermax and my 5v is still low (4.89) as compared to my old mobo (MSI K7t turbo le) it would read 5.08 all the time

I've got an enermax EG651P-VE in my current set up (650 watts max)

boy can you say overkill?

enermax/antec/PC Power and Cooling

basically you will be using one of the above if you're serious about performance.

You're going to give me nightmares!!!

I remember when I first started using the internet around 96 on an old pre-built piece of garbage, i believed that certain computer viruses(sp) could make your computer burst into flames.

I put an Enermax in my case when I went water cooling:D

Epox 8KHA+ motherboard.

5v line was great until I decided I just HAD to get my XP1600 to 2Ghz- then I had to do a volt mod to help compensate for the other volt mods:)
So now my 5v line is even better, although my 12v line is a bit high......the voltage control circuit is the same for both, so when I pumped up the 5v a bit the 12v line also gained.
Compromises;)

I'll get another, if and when the time comes, unless I get a PCP&C.

What voltage mod did yu do to increase the 5v rail? any guides? thx :)

Another request for this mod- been a lot lately; maybe I'll condense everything into a small article;)

Here's the link: Enermax 5v Mod

Long thread; good information throughout; read the whole thing.

Seriously- read it: it is very easy to hurt yourself, wreck your power supply and or destroy your computer if you do it wrong!

Another point on this mod: the 5v and 12v lines are regulated by the same circuit in the psu: when you adjust the 5v line the 12v also goes up.

I currently have a 5v of 5.03v and a 12v of 13v on my heavily modded and overclocked system, and its been that way for a few months with no problems........yet. [me knocking on wood]
