Hi guys! I decided finally to register here and ask something about my build for new computer. Its not super high end nasa computer but its much better than mine now :D I have limit thats 550€ / 730$.

MB: Msi 970 gaming 86€
Cpu: amd fx6300 104€
Gpu: msi r9 270x 2gb 130€
ram: kingston 8gb 1600mhz blu RED 71€
cpu cooler: gelid solutions tranq revo 2 24€
hdd: sata3 wd blue 1tb 7200rpm 64cache 53€
psu: ocz fatal1ty 550w 55€
case: zalman z3 midi tower 32€

Probably i will oc cpu when i have (imo) good cooling (a lot of ppls using it i know) and good mobo. But im not sure about power suply

Just want your impresion of this build and some tips if posible :) Thanks !

Looks solid to me, minus the motherboard.
Go with a GA-970A-UD3P.
MSI has been known to give issues on AM3+ boards.

PSU will be fine. Not the best unit, but a very good unit for the money.

Thanks. But i will miss that awesome design :( I know performance > design. But it looks awesome. So will i be able to oc cpu with this psu? I wanted something like corsair, seasonic or cm but this looks great to me too. Btw sorry for not posted links to components but im on smartphone :p

I agree with Atmin: Get a higher quality Psu:
EVGA 100-B1-0500-KR

or

XFX P1-550S-XXB9

That board may look good but you will be sorry if it gives you trouble and Msi boards have been troublesome for these Fx processors.

The Gigabyte board Atmin suggested would be a good choice. You could also go with something like this if you wanted a black and red design.

Thats nice. But i have money limit ( no two color case ) and this psu isnt in our inet shop :p im purchasing it from alza.sk ( i think theres option to change language )

cannot make purchase from ebay amazon etc uk/us websites. high price for delivery + delay -_- :(

what about evga 600B? i cannot find this psu you posted upper.

btw im from slivakia i wont buy pc from uk/us sites coz of high shiping prize and delay. im using this shop alza.sk I think theres option for changing language. but i added atminsides mobo and this evga 6ooB psu

ops sorry for double post i think i had lag o_O

Evga for sure. Thanks a lot guys! Glad to be registered here :D mobo as you said psu too. Lets wait for ups courier :D ty guys one more time ^^

For the lesser VRM section on a power hungry platform?
Bad idea.

Lesser? More PWM phases do not always make a better PWM setup. 8 really good phases are just as good as 12 "ok" phases. At least that's my understanding of it.

The M5A99FX uses 8 phase vs 10 phase on CHV and Sabretooth, but it uses the same chokes. The Gigabyte board uses what look to be lesser chokes. Can't speak for the mosfets or anything cuzz I can't see them but that's just my viewpoint on the situation.

Honestly, with the FX stuff, you just need the extra lanes to handle the current.
Better chokes and mosfets really only help when speaking of the same number of phases.

It's not like Gigabyte went and used crap parts either, my 970A-UD3 pushed my FX-6300 over 5GHz like it was nothing.

Thats the problem i cannot afford it, i know that one guy told me this is better mobo, but my limit sucks ... Im student, have som money from work and im happy with this a lot. I know maybe i will be not able to overclock too high but its better than athlon x4 gt220 4gb ram ;) :D

That's the thing, really low end motherboards can't handle these chips properly stock.

The general guideline afaik with FX is 1 PWM phase per core. So 4 phase for a 4 core, and so forth.

You may have problems with overheating on your board. And overclocking will be out of the question. Overclocking is what really makes these chips shine. It's worth putting away the money, no matter how slowly, to pick up a decent overclocking board and a good cooler.

Im not sure if i understanded right, but this motherboard is good only for 4core CPU?
I dont know whats PWM etc this specs thats are not showed on motherboard specs in shop.

@ THOCNoob - Its VRM (Voltage Regulation Modules), not PWM(Pulse Width Modulation).

@ Creative - The VRM's that THOCN and ATM were talking about are the number of power phases on a motherboard. As you get into Hex/Octo's from AMD, you need to have a robust power section, especially when overclocking.

Also, both boards will be fine. I do not know any details about the power bits, but it says both will be OK: http://www.overclock.net/t/946407/amd-motherboards-vrm-info-database

Oh thanks for letting me know whats VRM.

I was looking at overclock site you posted, and found only 970A-UD3, and i have UD3-P.
http://prntscr.com/493dvu
But then i was googling a bit and found on official page 8+2 Phase CPU VRM
http://prntscr.com/493efl

So this motherboard have 10 VRMs, and im able to add 4-6-8 core if i understand right. And i can overclock of course. Correct me if im not right o_O

As I said already, either board should be fine. From that link, those boards listed in green means its ok for octo clocking. ;)

If you are going with the UD3P you will be able to overclock just fine. Same board I have and Right now I am overclocked to 4.6Ghz and could almost go higher on decent air cooling.
