Get the Antec 900, its a great case.

I agree with what rattle said other than the OS. Dont bother with Vista, unless you really want to play a DX10 game.

i know i'm going to get ripped for this...but if you're not into hardcore benchmarking, and your software will work with vista (most common software does), then there is no reason to stay with XP for a new build. lets face it, XP is on its way out even if we would like to see it stay. and, as time goes on, more and more games will make use of the benefits of DX10. also, all of those "nasty" background tasks that "steal" all of your ram are actually useful for making your OS more snappy and they do release the ram if something else needs it. call me a sucker for pretty stuff, but i really like vista. i like aero for the the same reasons that i like compiz fusion on my linux box. and really, all considered, vista is a much more efficient OS for me (after learning the tricks that it has up its sleeve). i've found it to be much more responsive after upgrading to SP1 too.

[/rant]just wanted to give my two cents about Winblozs OS's...not trying to start a "My OS is better yours" battle or anything.

What he said. Vista 64 Home Premium...love it, and not 1 issue.

I don't know... I just experienced something "nasty" with Vista that would have never happened to me with XP (as far as I know).

Today my Vista machine locked up. On reboot, it failed to load my user profile and had me logged in as a "temporary user". Thinking that it was some sort of safe mode, I reboot only to find the same thing. I browsed the hard drive and found that I not only lost everything in Application Data, but also everything in my My Documents folder. All of my applications were still installed and working, but missing personal settings (like different FTP login info in Dreamweaver or my login for Skype, etc.) and all of my docs, pictures, MP3's, etc. are now gone from that PC.

I've had crashes before. I've had OS's completely fail to boot up. But I can't, for the life of my, figure out HOW this PC managed to systematically lose ALL of my personal data and settings, yet maintain all of the applications, etc. I do blame Vista.

that crash warrants investigation. knowing what did it may help prevent it from happening again. i'm not defending vista, but it could be a severe program incompatibility or something of that sort. i had a similar experience while beta testing with vista (that issue has long been resolved though). then again, it very well may have been vista's fault.

Since it's a Socket 939 Motherboard you are going to be pretty limited in your CPU upgrade options. Are you still using the video card in your sig? If so that would be pretty high on the priority list of upgrading if you are looking for higher quality play from games.
