Looks good. Can just imagine the look on someone's face when they sit down to type. WTF?
Kind of like me typing in the dark. One day I discovered I wasn't looking at the keys at all & my typing was OK. Well, almost OK - lol

What did you do with the keys? Remove the script or paint it over? Any chance the paint will come off after use?

Can't stand those "ergonomic" boards myself. But that is a matter of opinion. :)

I hate the old keyboards, I have been using ergonomic keyboards for about 8 years now. If you know how to type properly, it takes 20 mins to get use to the ergos.

Cool mod, hope the paint wont wear off the keys though.

I want a black, ergo, wireless keyboard... there are very very few of them around :(

OHS NOES...WHERE DID YOUR LABELSS GOES?!?!?!?!?!

/jk nice mod. I haven't tried those ergo keyboards yet - I have to put that on my to do list.

oroka they are nice, i think i might have a lod black wireless one laying around somewhere. :)

LOVE THE MOD

I've gotta ask, is that a 5.0V LED you stuck in there, or a 3.3V led? I have a bunch of 3.3V blue LED bulbs and was planning on installing them in my keyboard (it's actually in pieces right now, hah!) and wondering of any danger. Mod looks great, any help for me? (Sorry to thread jack, but it's the same topic.

its was a 3.3v with i believe a 470 ohm resistor. power was tapped from the incoming 5v at the circuit board. i can double check that resistor if you need to know.

Well, 470 ohm sounds great because I have a pack of those lying around:santa: This will at least give me the confidence I needed to start soldering. Woohoo!

the resistors worked like a charm. I now have 6 LEDs floating around the top of my keyboard. Didn't give off the exact look I was aiming for, but still cool none-the-less.

Not bad. I personally hate ergo keyboards. We had to use them in tech class in high school, and they drove me nuts. I still have to look at my keys while I type, so I would probably fail at using that.

Looks good

Careful you have the new model of "Das Keyboard"!

70 bucks for a KB that is basically the same as this mod but non ergonomic.

Except the das keyboard has mechanical switches.

Yes, mechanical rules. The Das Keyboard would be choice for that reason. Not near as robust as the IBM model M design, but the Das Keyboard is much quieter.

Love the stealth look. I really dig the lights too. The keyboard looks great, good job.

heh, nice. i painted the same keyboard red a few years ago. mine was all red with ony the numbers and symbols on there keys. i had pics in my thread but they are long since lost.

Looks nifty, might be a bit hard for some to use though.

Well thats kinda the point of modding:beer: its custom to suit me. and is not a mass market product (anymore).
