I plan to replace my CPU HS fan with two of these.
But if anybody finds a fan with better airflow-to-noise, post it!
The Panaflo M fans are not particularly loud. Suggest avoiding Vantec. Not a lot of sound, but a very annoying one. You could also try one of the Zalman voltage reducers. These are basically a 3 pin extender with a resistor in-line.
If you want a reliable VERY quiet dual ball bearing fan, try this one, its the fan I use in every power supply I buy. The only other fan I'd recommend in this thread is the Panaflo Aslan suggested, but keep in mind, Panaflo's are sleave bearing and the fan I recommended is dual ball bearing.
I've been pleased with both Vantec's Stealth line of quiet fans, as well as the PC Power and Cooling Silencer fans. Top quality and performance without much noise.
