ok, i wanna get a tbredB 1800+ and if i can i want the best, or theoretically best, week so i can, in theory, get a better overclock. i have looked at the one at excaliberpc.com but it seems to be a little older...should i get that or look for better steppings..and what steppings do you recomend?

I have that one from Excaliber and it's running @ 2.530 (220x11.5) in an NF7-S rev 2.0. I'd highly recommend it! I liked it so much that I bought 3 more. They aren't makeing them anymore, so get em while you can.

I'm useing a smart fan II & an SLK 900A. My temps with this rig are a little higher than I like, 43 idle 48 load, but there ok. I'm just a little consertitive about temps. The 1700+ in my sig runs a little cooler 37 idle 42 load. I use the smart fan II on it also, that & the SLK hs make a good cooling solution.

What Vcore are you running?

I bought a XP1800 from Excaliber, too. So far, the highest Prime-stable OC is 2.45GHz - 222x11.5 @1.95V with 2-2-2-11 timings, CPU Interface enabled, 4:4 DC. CPU temps are 55C load, 39-41 idle at 20-22 ambient. I'm kinda tempted to run that config 24/7, as the temps are still pretty reasonable, but the 1.95 Vcore scares me a bit.

Getting past 2.4 with this chip is highly dependent upon good power. My 5v line running through the mobo just can't stand up to the strain. Anything above 1.85v gets unstable for me. However, I placed a small heatsink on half of the mofsets and gained a little stability on the voltage. I plan on doing a mod to cool those things off a bit. And hopefully that will get me stable above 2500.
