Read the manual at gigabyte but still dont know how or what to do.

#1 I have these SATA connectors on my new board(not installed yet). What hooks to them?

#2 I think i need 2 drives, But what kind? I have an 7200rpm WD 80 gig. Is this a SATA drive? and can it be used as a raid drive if i get another? I just dont get it yet, thats where the help from you all will be greatly appreciated. Also does SATA/0 mean RAID?
Also i have this Y adaptor i got with the board today, One female molex with 2 SATA flat connectors. What the heck is it for?
Thanks, If i have more questions Ill post them.

SATA is the new HD standard so a HD hooks up to them. You can get IDE => SATA connectors so you could use that drive with your raid setup.

That Y adapter is to power SATA drives, they ususally dont accept molex plugs.

Thank you man

Its a complicated deal huh? I might just take it to someone more Knowledgable than I to do it. Ill have them set me up with all the goodies.

Thanks for the link, Ill read it again to let it sink in. I get the premise, But what equipment i need is still fuzzy. The board came with All kinds of connectors, And i have no idea. LOL. Im learning i guess.

Thanks again
