Hey All:
I am thinking of building my own computer soon, but I am looking to build one that can be upgraded for a extend period of time (more than a week please:)). I want to go with AMD but i don't know which mother board to get... With the palomino coming out soon I want to get a good fat DDR (kt266 or better) motherboard now that could support the new chip (would the change of transistor size to .13 micron require completely new motherboard architecture?) Also, I heard that there is going to be DDR333 ram coming out, are there any board that would support that right now?
I am going back to school soon that is why i want to build it now when i have time. I reall don't mind too much about the cost of the board since I am going to reuse a lot of stuff anyways...

btw what is a good cooler?

thanks a lot

the asus ddr boards are the only boards that can reconize and use the palamino chips. im gonna get the asus a7v266 when it comes out.

thanks guys, but what about that new ddr333 ram thing? And will palomino for desktop be made with .13micron technology only? I am thinking of getting a good board right now but a very cheap cpu so i could upgrade it later, and what cooling system is the best to get?

Oh yeah are there any geforce3 cards out there that has lots of extra features? like that of ati all in wonder raedeon? I know v8200 delux, leadtek geforce3, Gainward geforce3, and that of msi's all have extra ports but which one of them have the most? I don't care much about games that are packaged, I would like a card that could let me do more things then just gaming, that has Geforce3 chip on it that is :p (I have elsa erazor x right now, i would keep it but... 1) when I went to win2k all of its features like temp sensing are gone, and no elsa never even bothered with the card... 2) I fried my card by "underclocking" it... yep that is right, appearantly geforce chews up power atleast 300watts or something, and my dell has a 220 watt ps. And to add to the insult, the motherboard of the dell system is specially tweaked to use only dell ps!!!! Freaking Dell!! Okay I am going into a tangent... there is so much problems with it... anyways, do NOT by computer from dell if you wish to expand on it... )
