I saw an auction for a P4 laptop, it has just the case, power supply, monitor, AC adaptor, and battary... I snatched it up for $30 shipped.

But I have no clue what it is, and I need to in order to buy the stuff I need for it.

Since I doubt I'll get a reply from the seller anytime soon I thought that I'd ask you guys..

Here is an ebay link, hope that's ok under the circumstances. ;)

can't tell from the picture what make it is. You would need memory, hard drive, cpu. I hope the dealer can tell you what brand it is. If not you have to wait until you get it.

No, I'll need EVERYTHING...

But come on.. its already got so much in it, and its P4 based... the worse that can happen is I resell it for double my money.

He says the mobo is faulty... So I have no clue...

I hope ebay has some.

It looks like a compaq, but i am not sure. I looked around to match to some other pics, but couldn't find an exact match. For your sake, I hope its brand name, it will make it easier for finding parts.

Is there any standardization when it comes to motherboards in laptops? Because I'll need a new one for this one, and if I can't find one for this model.......

u really cant tell till uget it - the seller should be able to just flip it over and read off the label on the bottom as like %99 of laptops have the info on the bottom.
