Everything was working great since I replaced my mobo and reinstalled on a new 250gig seagate. Not a problem in the world, then today I turn it on and Norton is saying my auto updates is off. I thought that was wierd, so I hit ok to turn it back on. 5 mins later it again said it was off. So I ran live update to update anything and I was going to do a virus scan. It updated and I restarted, when I got into windows I had no visual themes anymore, so just as I clicked on "Use Visual styles...." and hit ok, it restarted. And as soon as you would see the windows xp loading screen it would restart.
So I tried once more, and it was giving me errors saying that some system directory no longer exists and that I have to repair.
Tried repairing and it copied everything from the cd, but now when its in the windows "blue screen" loading saying 39mins remaining etc, it "stops" on loading devices with 34 mins left. EDIT: The screen keeps updating it "Windows is so great because..." tips, and the green boxes in the bottom right keep moving, but the mouse turns off and it doesnt go any further
I have no idea where this problem came from and its driving me insane.
Specs are in my sig, but ive got 2 gigs of kingston and a p4s800 mobo now
EDIT: And usually before the mouse freezes up the screen will flash twice. Going on and off, and when it comes back on it looks as though the refresh rate has dropped, and the mouse will not move
