I use a motorolla surfboard modem. What kind of ethernet card do I need and where can I buy them? Are they expensive? thanks for any feedback.

Any ethernet card will do as long as it has the following:

RJ45 connector
10Mbps or 100Mbs Speed rating
PCI/ISA depending on what slot you have free.

Netgear and Linksys make good cards

Most computer stores sell then, they cost about £15, or around $10.

You can also get Ethernet cards that plug into your usb port.

Yea just go to any compuer store and buy them. Buest buy has some of the best available. Some companies tend to get cheap with the NIC cards so be carefull because they can break.

If you have USB ports I would save your money . The surfboard comes with a optional USB adapter... Unless you are planning on networking a couple computers:)

bestbuy/circut city/good guys have great prices.. just make sure it's under $20..

Netgear is my fav, plus, the pictures on it are pretty.
