i am aiming for 3.4ghz on a 2.6c and i was wondering which memory and at what timings should i run it

thnx

It is kind of hard to recommend memory, but if you want to overclock, I suggest some good PC-4000 or OCZ PC-3500 Platinum LE. The PC-4000 will run 1:1, while the 3500 will do 5:4 with aggressive timings.

o btw, are tighter timings necessarily better than looser timings?

I would recommand the Mushkin Black lvlII PC3500. I had to choose too and Iam building a P4 2.6C too... After lot of reading and reviews I came across mushkin OCZ is good too but Mushkin seems better. After reading these threads I made my mind:

Second link

Hope it helps you

That's good to read. I just ordered a 2.6c with 1 gig of 3500 'mushkin level 2 blacks' (I love writing that). I had to talk myself into it as standard 512 sticks are selling about $85 now.
