I have a dual P3 1ghz rig (which is not O/Ced right now because my PSU sucks), 2 HDs, DVD, CD-RW, and an extra fan. Been lookin at the Antec 400W PSU but I read somewhere on the forums here that there a 500W PSU from CompUSA that's good. I'm open to any PSU that's good so if you got a suggestion, feel free to post. Thanks a lot. :)

the antec 400W is great. i think you can find it at compusa
for 70$ too. id stay away from the 500W comp usa brand
but i havent used it before. just be safe and go with the
quality made antec.

Hi Cardoe, and if no one told you yet, Welcome to the forums. Well, that all depends on how much money your willing to spend or course. My personal preference (if I had the money:D ) would be the turbo cool 425 from pc power and cooling inc. These are the cream of the crop, so to speak. They also expensive, ($170) but worth it.

Then enermax or maybe antec. I have read somewhere that (I believe the enermax) may conflict with some motherboards (epox) I think. Someone correct me if I wrong here, but seems like the problem was frequency.

You can find some nice psu's here

The one thing that I suggest for sure; don't go cheap, and never buy a psu made by a1electronicsinc.com ! I paid $400 one time to replace a system that was fried by a $68 psu from A1 Electronics, and 9 months later I'm still running on my old 300w.

Hope this helps.

Also you could try Sparkle at 400W, as these are excellent (as I read on the forums) for overclocking.

Been looking at the Enermax... the EG465-VE which is the only ~400W model they make... however there's a FM series, FCA, and FMA... Anyone know the difference? checked Enermax's corp site to see the diff and I couldn't find it. Thx

If money is no object check out PC Power & Cooling psu's, its the Cadilac of Psu's

I also like Enermax and HEC as well.....Matter of fact HEC is cheaper than an Enermax and built to last

I had to bite the Bullet. I went out and looked at specs of about 25 different PS's. What I looked at: ?... The 5v line, the 3.3v line the 12v line, combined power, Total Rated Power and How Much the Sucker was gonna cost me.

What did I end up with? An Enermax EG465P-VE.
+3.3v is rated @ 38A +5v is rated 44A 12v is rated 20A :(
And it ran me about $ 100.00.

I too went by CompUSA looking for that 500w'er.
Gonna spend that much $ Get a good 1. Name brand.
Just makes sence.

Good Luck.

We have the Antec 400- it's awesome. Their cases are phenomenal too... and at 245 watts, it has the highest combined output of any AMD approved psu ( I know.. you're running an In.. an Int.. ahh I can't say it.. you know.. the "I" word.. ;) )
Anyway.. Antec rocks. Definitely the Cadillac...
PC Power and Cooling?? ooohhh.. now we're talkin' 'Benz :burn:
