DELTA 80mm
Specifications: 80x80x38mm, -->80.16<-- CFM @ 5700 RPM, 52.5 dBA, 10.80w .90 Amp, 12v DC, 3+4 pin Molex connectors.

what rehostat i need ??
plz sendme especifications for buy in electronic store

thz friends

the delta 80mm I put on our tbird 1.2 works just fine with a 3w radioshack rheostat.

I think their wattages are screwed... on my home computer I have a .8 amp (9.6w) 120mm fan on a 3w radioshack rheo w/o any problems.

the radioshack 3w'ers i have are 25ohms. They can slow down a 120 to silent, and a pair of 80's without any problems. They do get a bit warm, tho... so I hang them in the fan's airfow to cool them off.

because this rehostat can with my delta??

Specifications: 80x80x38mm, -->80.16<-- CFM @ 5700 RPM, 52.5 dBA, 10.80w .90 Amp, 12v DC, 3+4 pin Molex connectors.

why ppl say i ned more 10w rehostat and 25 ohms or more

i think people are suggesting you need a 10w rheostat because you have a 10w fan... and there wouldn't be any problem with that.

I was just pointing out that my 3w rheostat works fine with my 9.6w fan. Maybe I'm not supposed to be using it... but it's held up fine for the past year now on the big fan.

i can buy in electronic store one rehostat with this specifications

15w 8ohms

this rehostat is good for this fan????

hey gosu,

I ::think:: the ohms determine the ammount of resistance you can add to the line, thus lowering the speed of your fan. A rheostat will allow you to vary the resistance, but if you get an 8 ohm rheostat... I fear you might not be able to slow it down as much as you would like to.

Now, I am not positive, so hopefully someone else will come along and confirm this, but I think you'd want a higher ohm rated rheostat so that you will have a wider range of fan speed.

good luck!

Cliffs Fanbus is a great site for information regarding selecting the proper wattage and ohm rating for rheostats. Cliff has all the easy calculations spelled out.Rheostat Quick Tips. Thanks Cliff! Good luck on your project!

Great link WN thanks, that actually cleared everything up for me. NO I know, and Knowings half the Battle!! hehe

yea u would probably need a 10w rheo if u where planing on running the fan @ full blast for a long time without a hs or some sort of cooling for it.....but as ur down the voltage ur wattage goes down also...cliff's article might have the forumual to calculate how many v= how many w

thz friends

i buy rehostat 15w 8ohms for my delta and funtion very good

only the rehostat is litle hot , is normal??

with this rehostat i can run 12v, 11v,10v,9v,8v,7v,6v,5v,4v.

:)

It should gets hot as it share some of the voltage in the circuit. But how hot? as long as it does not burn your finger (50C) it is okay to be a little warm
