High everyone ......and thankyou for reading this im totaly new to OC'ing. I've tried looking for the maximum CPU running temp for my AMD Athlon 1GHz but i can't find it on there site. The reason being is that i wish to overclock it and i would like to know what temps i should be trying to get out of it. ( Of course i know though this depends on Heatsinks,Fans Case temp and so on. Currently I'm running a Athlon 752MHz as standard oc'ed to around 870 MHz at max setting im getting around 40 c to 45c in the Bios System Health and also my Desktop results. Is this safe or can i push some more?? Also i found that my case temp according to AMD should be around 70c is this correct??

1) I think case temp should be nearer 70F than 70C :D

2) 40-45C looks OK, try and keep the CPU under about 55C to 60C while overclocking. Under 50C is ideal. The CPU should theoretically last till about 70C to 80C.

EDIT: 70F is 21C

I wouldn't personally run one of my cpu's above 50 C, but they will go higher than that, but then you are dramaticly risking the life of your cpu. For a case temp you should be looking less that 25 C

My case temp is 21c when the cpu is Oc'ed & at 820 MHz my cpu temp stands at around 39c. So keeping it below 50c is best? Excellent also what is the best Heat sink and fan for AMD's ...there seems to be loads out there which one is the best for oc'ed CPU's?

Get a good branded one. I hear the Alpha 8045 (I think?) is a good cooler. Look out for HSFs with Delta fans. Fast but noisy.
