Hi,

I have a Prescott 3.0 in the P4P800E-Deluxe with 2 stick of OCZ PC4400 550mhz and it could boot into windows using the 20% Overclock option (240x, 3.6ghz). So I'm happy to see that the CPU could run at 240 speed eventhough that Prime95 failed in just a min.

I then go to manual CPU setup and tried and tried many different ways but could not get it stable even at lower speed as in the followings.

I thought with this mem rated at 550, I can run at 240x but wonder why it still failed.

Could someone please tell me what SPD timing setting should I set to get it stable:

Here is the settings:

Jumperfree menu: CPU Ext Freq : 240
DRAM Freq: Auto ( tried 266 (3:2) and 5:4 )
AGP/PCI: 66/33

CPU Vcore: Auto
DDR Auto
AGP 1.5v
Turbo mode

And under the Advanced Chipset menu:

Config Dram timing: Disable
Dram CAS# latency 3.0
RAS#Precharge 4
RAS#to CAS# 4
DRAM CAS# Delay 8
DRAM Precharg delay 8
DRAM burst lengh 8
Memory Accel mode: Enable
AGP aperture size 128 MB

As you see, I leave most of option at default and my goal is just to get to 3.5G at default CPU, AGP voltage.

Please point out what other settings in the jumperless and Chipset menus that I can change to get my memory up to speed.

Thanks very much.

Run memtest86 to verify that the RAM is not producing errors. if that comes up clean your CPU is to blame and you need to raise the volts

Thanks for your input. I ran CPU-Z and it depending on each of my settings, it shows:

1. 234 FSB, 936 Bus at 400 (1:1) then CPU-z mem = 234, SPD = 277 3-4-4-8
2. 234 , 936 266 (3:2) " = 156

The highest Mem I saw from CPU-z was 235 FSB and I thought either way, the OCZ should be OK. I know it's not the CPU because I used the old Samsung 3200 it still behave the same, ie, boot into windows at 240x 3.6G but failed with prime95.

I'm about to throw the towel because i tried many ways and it's been 2 days already and I hope somebody can show me something that worked with his.

Thanks.
