Value cards

Either of the cards/maufacturers you listed should be fine. Given that game programming hasn't caught up to new video hardware, they should hold up and perform well for some time.

Just check out my Leadtek Geforce 2 Ti in my sig. It's a great card! Although I'm tempted to sell it for an 8500 just because I'm a 3dmark nut.
 
other options for a little more $

Yeah, a GF3 Ti200 or 8500 in the $150 range would be much better and last longer before needing to be upgraded...
 
in the maximum pc magazine, they show clips of commance(sp) helo with ripple effects in the water, this is not a graphics feature available with any other card on the market, according to the reviewer. me personally am an ati fan all the way, they have had there driver issures but look at geforce they have had a sure heck of a time with drivers. OMG did they is all i have to say.
