What to clean my cpu core with?

Cleaning off my core to put some new thermal grease on.

What can I use?

And what should I make sure I don't use?

Goo Gone works. Most people use acetone or something though.

I use dish soap and then acetone to clean that off,it works awesome!!

I used Goof Off (can get it at any Home Depot in the paint isle), and 91% Rubbing Alcohol with a QTip

Make sure you use lint free cloth when wiping whatever you use on and off of it.

All my CPUs are lemony fresh.

Lighter Fluid.. ah it was scary. But it worked fine for me, and nothing in my computer is combusting. Not yet...

What's the flash point of lighter fluid? Probably much higher then your cpu is going to get (unless you try to recreate that THG vid).

i use 99% isopropyl alcohol. works pretty good and leaves no residue.
