I don't know much about video editing and encoding. I recorded a video file on a camcorder (of the extension .MOD). Apparently, this needs to be converted into a more edit and view-friendly format, so I'm looking into special programs for that.
Nevertheless, once I have this program, I need to know what format to save the video file to. It first needs to be saved to a format where I can (1) edit it (in Adobe Premiere), and then it later needs to be saved to another format so I can (2) upload it to a site like Youtube (or host it on my website).
Can someone please recommend a format to use for (1) and (2)?
The final video size/resolution should not be too big. It would be of similar quality and resolution to what you have on Youtube.
