whats a good overclock?

ive tried overclocking to 3.6ghz stable with a max load temp of 68C

now since i know i can do that whats a good everyday overclock? it dosent have to be sure high just a nice overclock. i play games such as fear, cs:s, and photoshop

68c load is a bit high. i would put it at 60c or less. you won't notice much of a decrease while gaming.

i have it at 3.0ghz now 55C

What processor are you using? My E6400 runs stable at 3.2ghz at 54C. I would go up to 60, but my P5B has issues going over 400 fsb.

Aren't Intels rated to run at 70C+?

I'm not sure what they say officially, but my cpu would throttle at anything over 64-66C and didnt like anything really over 60. I dont think that intels were really meant to rum much hotter than 60C
