What is one, what does it do, and is it a good idea? i am reading up on this stuff before i go head and build my new system and decide weather to o/c it.

a sandwhiched group of NPN transistors which make one side very cold and the other side very hot by sending a current through it.

Not a good idea unless you really really know what you are doing. And not really necessary unless you absolutly have to have that extra 100mhz that you can't get with a good heatsink.
