Well I finally sold my 1.2ghz amd processor and upgraded to a :
1.33ghz Axia0119bpnm
y6326330014
Well i noticed the L1 bridges were factory unlocked so that was a good thing, hehe I went ahead and unlocked the L7 bridges with a graphite pencil. (supposedly gets more voltage to the core)
My core voltage right now is 1.88... before with my 1.2ghz processor it stayed at 1.78 (never messed with L7 bridges)
Well that leads me to this question.. What program would be best to burn in my new proccessor? I've read on this forum before using a burn in tool you can achieve higher clock speeds with lower core voltages if done right and I'm not sure what to use..
System Specs:
Asus A7m266
Amd 1.33ghz Axia week 11 w/ 266fsb
Swiftech 462b cooler
512mb pc2100 ddrsdram
Windows 2k w/ Sp2 installed
Ls-120 Superdisk
Kenwood 72x cd-rom
Yamaha 16x10x40 cd-rw
Soundblaster Live Platinum 5.1

SETI is a distributed computing client. In order to perform a burn-in prior to an overclocking attempt, you should run a series of CPU intensive programs over the span of a week. 24 hours/day. You should lower your multiplier to the lowest setting that you are completely stable at, whilst boosting your Vcore to your boards max...provided you have enough cooling to keep your temperatures in the 40-43C range. Lower is better still.

What follows is a complete little guide to the theory and practice of burning-in You'll find a link to the SETI client in the above guide. You must pay the strictest of attn. to your reported temperatures.

Enjoy,

T

Thanks a bunch im gonna leave my computer on for 3 days straight before trying to overclock..Hopefully that will be long enuff if connected to seti the full amount of time, what do u think?
thanks..

i'm glad the "real" professionals have arrived to our forum!

Why do people bother with this burn in BULLS***...
Please watch the language Gunjaa, we have many young people that frequent this forum and that kind of language is inappropriate. Not getting on your case about it, just letting you know.

The best burn-in is to immediately set it as fast as it will run withour errors, using as high a voltage as you need to accomplish the OC. Then, do something with it. Don't just let it sit there and worship it. ;D
