I currently have my cpu overclocked to 3.0GHz, and ram running @ 1066. 333 frontside bus, w/333 strap to northbridge, 9 multiplier. I can go with a 3.2Ghz overclock using 356/333 9x, but I have to go with ram at 949. If I use 400/400 8x my northbridge gets to hot for my liking.

which do you guys think would be better/faster for daily use, & gaming
3.0 @ 1066, or 3.2 @ 949

Ram is 5 5 5 12 either way.

Max out your CPU first then tweak the ram later. The increase is CPU cycles will help gaming and daily use more so than ram frequency.

I agree, more CPU is good. I think you would notice 200 Mhz of CPU in newer games. I notice a difference in FPS and overall fluidity going from 3.2Ghz to 3.5Ghz. Newer video cards need a fast CPU to feed them as much as they can handle, so the faster the CPU the better. I can't imagine you would really notice the difference in RAM speed from 949 to 1066 in any realworld cases. Heck, I don't really seem to notice going from 800 to 1000 in any realworld usage.
