For a site with a few jpgs and nothing else, what's a good place to pay for hosting it, as far a prices go in 2020?

You can almost certainly do that for free. I just saw a thread on here for getting a Full VPS virtual server w 40GB storage & 512 MB RAM for $2 per month.

EDIT: https://infinityfree.net/ I'm checking this out now!

EDIT #2: I've been sitting on a domain for a while. Going to self host on a Raspberry PI 3 or 4, but have not gotten around to it. So I gave this free jobby a go!! Actually very impressed, and I think it'll work well for you. But time will tell.

I'm out in da country brah. Coppper line only.

Friends, I considered InfinityFree and 000webhost and Atspace, and have concluded Atspace is the most reputable, most reliable and truly free.

I was stunned at how quickly the web site was up and running, I mean seconds. Truly free of charge. Zero dollars.

So this only applies to a simple situation as outlined in the original post. This isn't for some giant commercial operation or anything.
