just wondering i cant get past 840(140fsb) stable with this mobo, it will run windows(no 3d) at 852, but im trying to debug my overclocksomeone help me?

Ive maxed my board out at 150fsb, but in order to do it I had to get some new memory, I got a Corsair pc150 256..also
You may want to try running only 1 stick, I had similar problems getting to 140 trying to run 2 sticks.

what would the symptoms be if its the ram thats holding me back?....i though it might be my video card because games are unstable at 852 while it ran prime 95 all night.....as welli have a linksys lan card(would that hold me back?), im pretty sure the soundblaster is a good quality component, i might take out my ghetoo isa modem (i have cable now, but i never took it out), or maybe it_the_cow is right (i hope he isnt) and the ca2s can only reach the mid 850s....:(.....hopefully in a year or so ill get that nice 700E r 800E tahat will take me to a gigahurtz....ill be praying....also when i try to change the System/SDRAM Ratio which someone told me was the PCI divider i found that the number that gave best results was AUTO (alright it aint a number so what)..someone help me....???

I got mine at 133 now like yours mine post's windows, but can't do 3d at 140. I'm still at 1.65 though gonna bump it up someday and see if it may help.

what hsfs are you guys using also would be helpful cuz I am trying to get a 750E up to 1000 and I want it stable and cool.

I would bet a dollar the problem is your memory.

As was mentioned above, you might try just 1 chip to see
if it is stable there.

I dont thing you mentioned your memory CAS latency settings...

I have fairly decent Crucial(Micron) 256mb PC133 ram chips.

I can run at CAS2 settings stable at 140fsb, but if I want to run
at 150, I have to turn the setting to CAS3 in the CMOS or I start
getting page faults, gpf's ect.

You should look at this before playing around with the core voltage
for sure.....

i got generic 256 pc133, and 128pc133, ill take them both out right now to attach my homemade ramsinks :)....then ill put the 256 back in , and see if it works....

If you want the best, the Alpha P3125 would be the one

YES this is a good cooler!!! I have one on my 700...Its big,its heavy and its loud with my deltas...but it works!!!

What kind of temps do you get with that P3125? My CA2 P3550@733 never seems to go below 32-33c even when completely idling(as reported by Asus Probe). This is when the weather is somewhat cool (~70F). On hot days the thing hovers around 40C. I've taken off the aluminum shroud and only have one Delta right in the center of the heat sink so it isn't so loud, and I'm using Artic Silver interface grease. Even when I had the shroud on it and both delta's on it screaming away, it would't go below 30C (except when it was downright cold in the house(less than 60F). Case airflow shouldn't be a problem, as I keep the side off all the time. When I touch the heat sink on the side it feels cool to the touch....

I don't know, but it just seems to be warm for a $35 cpu cooler...

Asus Probe usually isn't very accurate. It can sometimes vary to about 10 degrees C too high. So you would get a good 73 degrees F. I've yet to recieve my P3125 yet, but I'm looking forward to it. I practically stole it for $28 with all accessories and two 25.5 cfm fans. Right now, I'm at about 45 C with a GORB with a delta fan, so the Alpha will be most certainly welcomed. If you really want to get an accurate reading, wedge a thermosistor by your CPU die

i am at 160mhz fsb, i have done 166mhz which was only about 90% stable.
i have an intel p3 700e oced to 1120mhz @ 1.75v
alpha p3125s and 86w peltier
you can see it here.
I'm going to cool my northbridge and clock generator, then see what i can do.
f3ar.

Highest I ever got was 133 FSB. Cel 800@1066. Won't go past 922 anymore, think the board is fried. Ah well...
Time to go dualie.
