Thanx to the forum leaders for the SMP section. Since most of us like to talk hardware (especially stuff they have), list your dually config, what purpose it serves and its OC abilities.

My dually (not much but I like it):

P2 400s @ 448 (all the higher they will go on this mobo)
Tyan Thunder 100 (BX version) w/ onboard SCSI and sound
384MB Infineon PC100 CL2
2x WD Enterprise 4.3GB UW SCSI HDDs
Matrox MilleniumII PCI 4MB
Antec SX830 case

I'm in the process of setting up a home network and this computer will act as a game server with, hopefully, some 100FSB coppermines instead of the P2s.

My frist SMP system and not my last!

First of all, Thank you Skip!

I just recently got bitten by the dually bug. The only parts purchased to assemble this system was one additional CPU, 1 stick of registered RAM and of course the motherboard, all else has been recycled from other systems. Having streched my computer budget during the last couple of months, I went the best bang for the buck route starting with a "refurbished" motherboard from NewEgg for $129.

My dually;

Tyan Tiger MP 2460 Rev 3
2 XP1600's (I had to unlock one L5 bridge on the newest one)
256MBs Crucial ECC regestered RAM
2G Maxtor hard drive to be upgraded to 40G WD in the near future
Voodoo 3 3500 video card wiith T-V tuner (on cable)
Sound Blaster Live! Platinium 4.1
Plextor 12/10/32 CDR/RW
12X DVD ROM
LyncSys 10/100NIC
generic floppy
generic 56K modem (just in case)
400 watt CompUSA power supply
WIN 2k Pro

I've had this to a 150MHz FSB before I installed everything, presently I have driver issues, particularly with the Sound Blaster currently using the W2k default drivers, some tweaking still needed. Fast and very stable as is at default.

check my sig.

Asus A7M266-D version 1.04
2 XP1800+ @ 2000+ (1.67G)(145x11.5)
2 stick of Corsair 256MB PC2400
a old Maxtor 9G hard drive (waiting for my replacement WD 40G BB drive)
GeForce2 MX 200
no floppy
52x CD ROM
3 Com 905B NIC
no sound
400W psu (waiting for a 500W unit)

had it up to 150x11.5, XP2100+, 1.73G(!), but my 400W Antec isn't up to it.

main purpose beside crunching SETI 24/7, is to run SETIQueue server for all of my machines (some local, some miles away), and for files storage, and backup. might use it to run other kind of serving too, like ftp, games, web site, etc.

You boys wanna see a cool rig? Check mine:
2x P100@133Mhz (233's in sig are sold)
64MB RAM Simms
1GB Seagate
4x Creative CDROM
SB16 Sound Card

Now who's jealous huh?? :D :D :D Don't you boys just wish you had one like mine?! This baby burns :burn:

And yes, this is the machine I use every day for Delphi, Net, games and Office.

Damn it's like lightning compared to my dad's P3 733

for my second rig, I have bp6 running dual celery 366@505 folding 24/7.

It's a miracle this board works... my friend (who owns it) knocked a couple of the capacitors off and ripped a trace. If I fixed it, I would get to use it for folding, so that's what it's doing :)

Those BP-6's are built like tanks. I think it is the best built board that Abit ever produced. I have beat, banged, dropped and kicked this board and it won't quit.

Currently I'm running what's in my sig, but have some duron 1.2ghz cpu's on the way. I'm selling the tbirds that are in my Tiger MP now.
