I am trying to plan for the future, mainly for Everquest 2, which based on the insane detail and amount of textures, definatly will not run good on my 512 of ram. what I'm trying to decide is what i should get, and wether i should get it now, or wait 4 months or however long it will be before the game comes out.
As mentioned in my sig, i have a 512 stick of Corsair XMS cas2.0 which currently goes for $120 on newegg.com. I was looking at possibly getting 2 sticks of 512 Corsair Value Select ram cas2.5 for $80 a stick. totaling $160 to get me to 1.5gb of Ram. Right now my overclock is maxed out at 195FSB because of my motherboard i believe anyway, and im content with just leaving it at that speed anyway. so im sure the value select ram will run fine.
So basically my 2 questions are. should i spend the extra $40 to get the extra 1gb of slightly slower ram(timing), or stick with another extra 512 of corsair XMS. the second question is if ram prices are expected to go down over the next 4 months, they seemed to have leveled out, and possibly fallen a little since they sky rocketed a couple months ago
I should also mention that i am planning on upgrading to an x800 or 6800 graphics card too, so dont start saying that my graphics card will hold me back
