Do you think performance will increase past 1300 mhz?????? The reason i ask is because my voodoo 3 is already a bottle neck when it comes to cpu power.

Really El id rather believe 2.086 GHZ on a T-bird

Yeah Id think when proc's reach around the 2.0 GHz mark. With other cards like the Geforce2, or the Radeon, it would prolly be around 1.6GHz. The reason for this is because as all of you know, the Voodoo5 is WAY much more CPU dependant then any of those cards.

No man I am serious about this!

When the Voodoo5 will ACTUALLY slow your system down to its threads, like having a 2mb card in right now, is when CPU's reach about 1.6GHz plus!!!

Hey, we are already at 1.4 Stock

Jeff are absolutly correct about the voodoo 5500 becomeing a bottleneck around 2.086 GHZ. Duron does not have enough processing power to achieve past 1.3 GHZ anyway and thus is still a bottleneck for the geforce 2 and voodoo 5 . IT TRUE ITS TRUE

Finally, someone who understands me! AAHHHH! :D

wouldnt it also depend on the ap/game. Like if you were playing Max Payne the voodoo card would have to use software t&l where as a geforce doesnt so at 800Mhz with a Geforce the GeForce is the bottle neck but with the same game even at 1.5 Gigs with a voodoo the cpu is still the bottle neck because it has a hard time doing all the t&l.

So what is better haveing a fast processor and still having it be the bottle neck or a slow one and having you graphics card be the bottle neck.

What im getting at is with this type of game the voodoo would almost never be the bottle neck because its not doing everything it should and therefore the processor is bogged down and its the bottle neck.

I think this is alot more complex question. Since T&L is in software, the only bottle neck is AGP and V5 fillrate. Fillrate can be eased with lower resolution. I have a 1.2Ghz Tbird and a geforce1, and Im sure that my geforce is the bottle neck as my CPU doesnt have to do T&L, so it'll end up waiting for the GF to do it. If it did it itself, the V5 would be waiting for the CPU to do it. If it had any spare time from filli'n polys. Even if the CPU was fast enough and the V5 had still plenty of fillrate, the AGP could be the neck.
