Ok, just a quick question. I have two Drives, a 36 gig Raptor and a 160 gig WDSE SATA drive. So i just got these two drives, installed windows on the 36 gig, and now want to install my other programs, like MS office and like corel and other small programs. Where would be the smart place to install my programs? Should i install them on my 160 or on the 36?

if different from above, i would like to keep my load times ( of programs and of windows) fast, and i would like my computer to run fast!

So what i am wondering is that if i do install programs on my 36 gig drive, would that slow down the oeprations of windows and/or its load and shut down times?

Outside of worrying about speed i always place windows on the smaller drive and install everything else on the other. If windows needs to be reinstalled or the drive formatted i wont lose anything else. The worst i may have to do is re-establish the shortcuts to the apps or sometimes reinstall them.

So then if i partition my 36 gig raptor to a C; drive for the os and a D drive for apps, and then use my SATA 160gig drive for storage, that wont decrese any booting time?

Sounds good. You don't need more than 3-5Gb for the OS if you don't install any apps on the C:\

I just install the apps on the 10Gb OS partition and defragment it.

If you like reformatting and reinstalling your OS then put everything you can off the OS partition.
