i cant seem to get agp 4x on windows xp and i enabled it in the bios does anybody know why!?
my card is asus geforce4 mx440 64mb ddr

What monitering software are you using to check the AGP?

If you enabled it in the bios, and it is still at 4x the next time you check in the bios, chances are, it's 4x.

I have had the same problem before with my Radeon 32 mb ddr card and I am running Windows 98se. I had a post on here not too long ago asking the same question and was told that it really makes no difference anyhow if you are in 2X or 4X. In benchmark tests the difference is only a few pts in 3dmark2001. The same goes for enabling fast writes, as they cause more errors than good. I have run my card with it set on 4x and 2x and have to agree with what I have been told, there is no noticible difference. Good luck and I will checking up on your post to see what others tell you.
