why no questions about sound cards on here?

i'm looking for a sound card that has optical inputs/outputs, and also 5.1 digital maybe. don't know a whole lot about the new stuff going on with sound cards now. i have an older yamaha card that can do optical in/out, but it doesn't work well in winxp and the drivers are slow to come. could someone give me some recommendations and/or some websites to look at. not wanting to spend too much money. maybe i'll look at a motherboard with the cmedia sound on it, but i was thinking of waiting since all i have is sdram and don't want to change everything now with all the new processors and formats coming out soon. i would at least like to skip on gen.

thanks

doesn't sound like that one has optical input, the santa cruz. hm. maybe it does but i couldn't find a spot on there for it and didn't see an add on board.

thanks

Actually, it doesnt have optical inputs, the Gametheatre has the inputs and outputs, my mistake, I was thinking digital outputs only(and digital coax to be exact). The Hercules Gametheater is the one then.

i would reccomend hercules, unless you go to like lan parties cause then you would probably forget the box, since it dont go insode your puter. and the usb saves cord tangles
