even my old tnt does 2048x1536! my geforce2mx supports the same max res and so does the geforce4's and the 350MHz ramdac is getting old. its been there since the tnt2u. why not use 500MHz ramdac and 3200x2400 res?

Über~PhLuBB said:Unless you have a 36" CRT, there's absolutely no need for such high resolutions. Even 1600 x 1024 is overkill, let alone 2000 or 3000.
As such, it's not cost effective to offer monitors and video cards which can pipe out such high resolutions. If a company can't appeal to a mass market, chances are they won't, because they wont make as much money.

at what refresh rate? the box says the same, 1600x1200x75Hz but did ya know you can use any res as long as the refresh rate isnt too high? my monitor does 2048x1536 at 60Hz I can run 3200x2400 if I use 40Hz except the fact the drivers of my geforce2 dont support it!
Mr.M said:Hi definition also starts around 1080 interlaced. 1024x768 is considered very hi res. Christ the new "High defenition TV's that are 50" are only about 1080 interalced!!! Having a small computer monitor that cranks out anywhere from 1024x768 to 1600x1200 is insane! And the need for more is??? I dont think the human eye could tell the difference betwwen 1600x1200 and 3200x2400, its past our own physical abilities.
And make sure you post what 19" does 2048x1536, or Im gonna call you on it, and call you a LIAR!
