Hi, i have been loking through all the various motherboards and have got to this short list. If someone could help me by suggesting the right one for what i need it would really help.

I am getting an Athlon 1.4ghz 266fsb. and 2 x 256mb of ddr PC2100 ram. need 5 or 6 pci slots and agp 4x.

I think all of these support everything i need but which one would be the best. some have features i dont need. Thanks

I am going through the same ordeal right now. As far as a bored I am stuck between the Asus A7A266 and Epox's 8KHA and 8K7A.

Doubt that is any help but, thats my imput. I was about to finalise with the A7A266 but then someone mentioned Epox, and now I have to decide all over again. The only thing I am not sure about is the Ali Magik 1 chipset on the new Asus boreds.
 
Just another one to throw @ you is the MSI K7-Master.


With AMD 761 northbridge.

I have had mine for about 3 weeks now and NO broblems at all. I even used the live BIOS to update it and it worked with NO broblems, Maybe just lucky.

I went to that link and the Epox EP-8K7A+ is looking reallllly* good what do you guys think?
 
well. thans everyone for their input. my list is now even longer but never mind. about the epox. does anyone know of any places that sell it in the UK. i have looked on epox's website and there are only a few and the only one with a website only sells to resellers. i suppose i will just have to phone around. but if anyone does know of anywhere else then that would be great.

i suppose this means that you think the epox board is the best bet yeah? ok. well i will probably get that one then. unless anyone else has any other views on the others?
 
I tell you guys what. I have the Iwill KA266. I am VERY disappointed with it! Too many problems with it so far. I had already taken one back tothe store for exchange because it would not boot at all. The second one just had too many problems here and there with stability! I DON'T recommend the Iwill thats for sure! I have read all the reviews on the Epox EP-8K7A+ mobo, and I am trading my KA266 in for the EpoxEP-8K7A+. It's on special order at Frys right now as we speak! Love that store! Not a bad price either! I'm getting it for $149.00 Only have to pay $17.00 difference to get it.
