Which 120mm fan would be the best choice on a D-tek Pro Core? I will be using it with a rheostat and want a very quiet setup. I would also like to have RPM sensing as well. I'm currently using the aluminum fan that's rated at 79CFM @ 30dBA @ 2000RPM. That's not bad specs at all. Would the Panaflo H1A be a better choice? It's rated at 103CFM @ 41dBA @ 2500RPM. My thinking is that this would give me greater flow when I wanted it and still be able to make it nearly silent with the rheostat for normal use.

use a panaflo L1a at 5v on a 120>80mm fan converter. there areny any decent quiet 120mm fans. 92mm is not a bad compromise... panaflo or papst.

really, anything else will sound like a subtropical huriacane.... of course your temps won't be that good though but should keep teh chip below 60c which is fine

The Panaflo H1A will be an ok fan using a rheo to turn it down if it gets to loud. Myself I use two 120mm Enermax adjustable speed fans and love them.

IMHO you should go for the single Panaflo just on specs alone (I have evercool and enermax 120s). You can keep it quiet or crank it when "engineering" your sys. You could also consider 2 120mm evercool aluminums in a push/pull at 7v are quieter than one at 12v, and does the same heat-dissipation job. Just put another shroud on. Btw the aluminum's specs seem too good to be true, as in we know it's quiet, but does it really put out that much cfm?

The Panaflo 120mm M1a specs aren't far from the aluminum fan specs.
SPEED : 2100 RPM

AIR FLOW : 86.5 CFM

NOISE : 35.5 dBA

DONT BELIEVE WHAT YOU READ ON THE SIDE OF THE BOX

sorry chaps but the only real quiet fans are the 80mm NMB and 80mm Panaflo M1a

the papst 80mm is quiet but does have a clicking noise that some people dont like

evercool, sunon, vantec etc.. the idea that they are truly quite is simply laughable
